Lô Borges (born in Belo Horizonte‐MG, Brazil, on January 10th of 1952), member of the Clube da Esquina, is a composer of several hits like "Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo" and "O Trem Azul", recorded by Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, Elis Regina, and other top artists. At 19 he was invited by Milton Nascimento to record the “Clube da Esquina” LP, sharing the composition of the entire album. In 1972, he released his first solo album, "Lô Borges", aka “The Sneakers Album”, followed by “A Via Láctea’ (1979), among many others. Abroad, Lô Borges has his work known in Europe, where his songs have been recorded by many singers. In USA, where he has performed lots of times, Lô is considered one of the main Brazilian composers and his songs have been included in collections elaborated by David Byrne (Talking Heads). In Japan, where he’s been for a tour of ten shows, he found an audience familiar to his work, and his albums in catalogues with the lyrics translated to the Japanese. From the year 2000 ahead, Lô composed new songs in a partnership with Samuel Rosa (Skank), Tom Zé, Nando Reis, Arnaldo Antunes, demonstrating his great capacity to move through generations and esthetics different from the Clube’s.
