Japan Treasure Hunters is a field-based research team dedicated to uncovering and preserving the historical landscapes of Japan and the Pacific.Led by Jonathan, a historian with a degree in History and East Asian Studies, we combine ethical metal detecting, archival research, and advanced documentation—including drone imaging, AI enhancement, and spatial mapping—to explore battlefields, mountain trails, lost ruins, and forgotten sites. Every expedition is grounded in cultural sensitivity and academic rigor.Since 2011, we've used Garrett metal detectors exclusively, starting with the ACE 150 and now the Vortex.
